A special congratulations to our Lady Eagles. Our Girls C squad team took 3rd place in the Santa Fe Independent Youth program tournament . Our Girls A squad team took 1st place in the tournament. They had an undefeated season 11-0. Our B squad girls worked hard and had a great season.

Two Pinon 6th-grade teams participated in The New Mexico Middle School Electric Car Challenge this weekend. The challenge is a battery-powered model car race and design competition. Students built a battery-powered car while developing their STEM skills. This challenge teaches engineering concepts, teamwork, creative thinking. Each team tests the electric car’s speed and agility with five qualifying runs over a 10-meter span.
Due to unsafe road conditions in certain areas of the District, all SFPS schools will be closed Friday, November 8th. Please note that this is not a remote learning day.

Due to road conditions in certain areas of the district, all SFPS schools will have a two-hour delay on Friday, Nov. 8th to allow extra time for buses to transport students safely. This means that bus schedules will run two hours later than usual. Please ensure your student(s) are kept from being dropped off before the delayed start as staff will not be on campus. Full-day Pre-K programs are delayed by two hours, while morning Pre-K programs are canceled. Afternoon Pre-K programs will continue as scheduled. Our next update will be at 8 a.m.

Out of an abundance of caution due to inclement weather conditions this evening, Wednesday, November 6th, we are canceling all afterschool activities, aftercare, and programs, including athletics, for today. This decision is being made to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families.
We understand the impact that this may have on your family’s schedule and appreciate your understanding as we prioritize safety. Please make arrangements for your child(ren) to be picked up from school at their regular dismissal time.

The New Mexico Public Education Department has issued new guidance for handling threats that originate on social media. Recently, schools across the nation have seen a surge in social media threats—many of which are hoaxes or pranks. Even when these threats are unfounded, they can still lead to widespread fear, the cancellation of events, and a strain on resources.
We urge everyone to be vigilant online and report any suspicious activity to authorities. Let's work together to keep our schools safe and protect our community's well-being.
